Released in February 2005, this comprehensive, yet easy to read, book covers the first 135 years of the history of Urness Township located in Douglas County, Minnesota. Compiled and published by the volunteer Urness Township History Committee.

Contents include the history and government of the township, veterans from the Civil War through today, farming practices, the history of four one-room schools and three congregations, the old Village of Urness, the weather and its impact on farm and family life, cemeteries, social and public service organizations, concise histories of many families, the bachelor characters who reside in Urness Township, and humorous short stories about life in the township.
